Officiating this year has caused lots of debates, coaches were fined, most recently Paul Maurice, but Sheldon Keefe also took his share of heat earlier this season. Last night, they've given another reason to hear the coaching staffs complain.
Brandon Carlo, a Bruins defenseman, was involved in a puck battle in front of the net with the Maple Leafs winger Michael Bunting. In the clip you'll witness Carlo throwing a wild cross-check up Bunting's face, whether it was intentional or not as yet to be determined. Though the blatant issue was that once again no call was made on the play:
Bunting was clearly rattled from the play, he bled pretty bad as a result. Once he got to the bench, he didn't fail to remind the refs that they'd missed yet again another call.
Bunting has been the victim of multiples offense this year perhaps the referees have something against him. The second clip shows how bad Bunting was injured, do you think they should have called it? Should Carlo get a fine?
