To some extent, it became obvious that some teams are clearly trying to tank in order to increase their lottery odds. You'd be crazy not to wish for what possibly is the next generational talent in Connor Bedard.

The Chicago Blackhawks have definitely gone into a rebuild and after trading away their best young players in the likes of Brandon Hagel, Alex Debrincat and Kirby Dach. Their intentions couldn't have been any clearer. The teams' top player for the last decade, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, both have contracts coming to an end and the team will need new blood.

Though Seth Jones, the star defenseman who's looked at to be the team's future, spoke up about the rumors going around on the Blackhawks' intentions:

"That's why we play the game, right? We're trying to win every game we play. We've got to control what we can control in here, and obviously the front office, they control that."

Mackenzie Entwistle, also added on the subject:

"No, no, definitely not. Your goal is to win the Stanley Cup. Where we pick and stuff, that's something that we can't control. Every single guy in here doesn't want to lose. If you get the first-overall pick, chances are you lost and you had a pretty bad year. So every guy in this room wants to win. The higher we place, the better for us."

The Hawks are obviously not aiming for the Cup, but the way they've been selling their team to the highest bidder for the last year should raise awareness. The quality of the show they've put on the ice since the beginning of the season clearly screams Connor Bedard, though do you think their efforts to lose will allow them to win the lottery?
