Beloved NHL Veteran & Former St. Louis Blues Commentator Kelly Chase Shares Update on Devastating Diagnosis
Beloved NHL tough guy for the St. Louis Blues, Toronto Maple Leafs and Hartford Whalers, Kelly Chase has reveled an update regarding his devastating diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia.
One year ago, Kelly Chase revealed to the world that he had been diagnosed and battling cancer. The former color commentator for the Blues kept an active with work and on social media, but has not disclosed any more info on his health.
Yesterday, (Nov 8th), Kelly Chase shared a much anticipated update his personal X account (formally Twitter) that unfortunately he still is in thick of his battle with Leukemia. He took the time to thank everyone for reaching out and send him love and support through this difficukt time. He also disclosed that his brother is a perfect (100%) bone marrow match which will have a major positive effect on his treatments.
In 458 career games across the previously noted NHL teams, Chase recorded 53 points, which included 17 goals. But, what Chase is really known for is his presence and skills with his fists, as he collected 2017 penalty minutes.
Chase may have never won a Stanley Cup, or had the most glamouring career, but he made his mark with being an amazing teammate and contribute to his community. Due to his efforts off the ice, Chase won the King Clancy Memorial Trophy in 1998.
