LATEST | Iconic broadcasting duo has finally reconciled
In November of 2019, longtime CBC broadcast host Don Cherry was fired due to insensitive comments he made during a segment of his and Ron MacLean's intermission show, Coach's Corner. Quite infamously, MacLean refused to public defend Cherry, with whom he worked alongside for 35 years, which effectively ruined their longtime friendship.
MacLean, 63, has continued to host Hockey Night in Canada every Saturday, while Cherry now has a podcast with his son, Tim, as he adjusts to life off the air.
However, it appears as though the two broadcasting legends have mended their relationship. Cherry, who recently celebrated his 90th birthday in his hometown of Mississauga, Ontario, was visited by MacLean to celebrate the occasion. This marked the first time the two had been seen together since Cherry's firing nearly five years ago.
Despite this, MacLean has yet to say or do anything publicly to mend the relationship of the icon CBC duo.
