LATEST | Blockbuster deal shaping up: Former Canuck Jacob Markstrom in the middle of it
The Flames have quietly been selling some of their highest prized possession, and it appears they might not be done yet.
Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov have been the two pieces the Flames chose to sell, and now everything indicates the former Canuck goaltender Jacob Markstrom could be next.
Many teams have been shopping goaltenders, but the latest reports have suggested that Markstrom would be high on the New Jersey Devils' list. David Pagnotta recently revealed that if a deal between these two had to go down, the former top-ten pick Alexander Holtz and the goaltender Vitek Vanecek would be the main pieces.
The Devils desperately need a goaltender that can take them to the next level, and Markstrom might be it. His contractual situation also makes him an ideal candidate for the New Jersey-based team.
