In his most recent article in The Athletic, Thomas Drance, revealed that the Canucks intend on leaving both young guns, Nils Hoglander and Vasily Podkolzin in the AHL:
The two have had an issues with their consistency in the NHL and quality icetime might just be the what they need to gain confidence. He stated that he expects them to be back in the NHL before the season ended, but that the priority was their development.
Abbotsford has been on a tear as of late and it's a great environment to be in right now. Podkolzin, the 10th overall pick in 2019, has points through 11 games since being sent down. Hoglander, the 40th pick of that same draft year, has yet to register a point in 2 outings.
