Canucks management sent a formal letter today to their season-ticket holder in which they announced what they were planning for the future and precisely who they planned to make it with.

Rutherford was the writer behind the letter and he identified his core four in: Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller, Quinn Hughes and Thatcher Demko. No big surprise there, however he then listed the emerging new players in the Andrei Kuzmenko, Filip Hronek, Ilya Mikheyev and Ethan Bear. Surprisingly enough, Bear is the only one on that list that doesn't yet have an extension for the 2023-2024 season. The fact that he is included means that the Canucks see him in Vancouver for the future and surely is great news for the Bear family.

On the other end, three important offensive contributors were left out in Brock Boeser, Conor Garland and Anthony Beauvilier. The three have been oustanding ever since Tocchet came in, especially Boeser who's picked up his game big time and may hit the 60 point mark for the first time in his career.

These three names surely account for a large part of the team's salary cap, moving them would surely give the Canucks lots of cap space, is this the way to go? Should Allvin and Rutherford find a new place for all of them? Aren't they worth keeping around?
