Flames claiming a win on the Kuzmenko trade following hat-trick night
It's been over two months now since the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks came together for a trade that included Elias Lindholm and Andrei Kuzmenko. So far, the trade is working out more in Calgary's favour than the Canucks were hoping.
While, yes Elias Lindholm missed a few weeks with an undisclosed injury, when healthy, he hasn't played as well as the Canucks or their fans were expecting and Friday night's game between Calgary and Anaheim provided another moment that put a dagger into the hearts of the Vancouver faithful.
With less than three minutes remaining in the third period, Andrei Kuzmenko picked up his third goal of the night to give himself his second career hat-trick. His first came as a member of the Vancouver Canucks in November 2022, also against the Anaheim Ducks.
"ANDREI KUZMENKO HAT TRICK!

Since the trade on January 31st, Kuzmenko has been hands down the better player. In 26 games, he's recorded 22 points (13 goals, nine assists), six penalty minutes and is a minus-ten. Meanwhile, Lindholm has appeared in 23 games for Vancouver where he's put up nine points (five goals, four assists), four penalty minutes and is a minus-seven.
