Former Vancouver Canucks forward Vasily Podkolzin spoke recently about playing in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Edmonton Oilers, the team he faced in the second round last year.

It's safe to say that a fresh start away from the Vancouver Canucks has rejuvenated Russian forward Vasily Podkolzin, who's in the midst of his first season with the Edmonton Oilers and helping them in their first round playoff series verses Los Angeles.
Podkolzin's time with the Vancouver Canucks came to an end last August as Patrik Allvin shipped him to Edmonton for a 2025 fourth-round pick and so far, it's worked out quite well for the Oilers.

Vasily Podkolzin speaks about being on opposite side of playoff run with Edmonton Oilers

Entering action on Sunday night, the Edmonton Oilers were down 2-1 in their first round series with the Kings after a big win in Game 3 and tonight's game will be a big opportunity for Podkolzin and Co. to show that they're not going away easily as they look to knot this up at two games a piece.
Podkolzin has been in the thick of things this series, registering two assists through the first three games and even picked up a ten-minute misconduct in Game 2 after slashing his former Vancouver Canucks teammate Andrei Kuzmenko.
In an interview with Preston Hodgkinson of Daily Hive on Sunday, Podkolzin reflected on his experience so far in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Edmonton Oilers after being on the opposite side of things with Vancouver in round two last May.
Podkolzin didn't play too much in last season's playoff run for the Vancouver Canucks, but did manage to get into games 5 and 6 due to injuries, playing in front of a rowdy Oilers crowd for his second career postseason game.
"It's good. When I came here for Game 6 with Vancouver last year, it was loud. I think the L.A. are feeling it right now," Podkolzin said.

He later went on to add, "A Canadian market is special, it doesn't really matter where,» Podkolzin said. «I'm in Edmonton right now, I'll say it's the best one I've had."

Whether Vasily Podkolzin and the Edmonton Oilers win or lose tonight, they'll head to Los Angeles for Game 5 on Tuesday night as they fight to keep their hopes of a Stanley Cup championship alive.
