Cole Caudield Scores Season Opener in his New Jersey number
In his first game wearing No. 13 to honor Johnny Gaudreau, Cole Caufield opens the scoring for Montreal.
The Canadiens took a power play when Maple Leafs d-man
Conor Timmins took a tough slashing penalty against
Juraj Slafkovsky. Montreal took control quickly in the offensive zone and Slaf fed a beautiful dish to Caufield, who launched a one-timer past goaltender
Anthony Stolarz.
Growing up, and in college, Cole Caufield always wore number 13 for the fact that Gaudreau was his favourite player and inspired him to be an undersized forward in the NHL.
it was a special scene in Montréal when he scored, and I am sure Johnny was looking down on him.
