A trade sending Sam Lafferty to the Canucks in October seemed pretty insignificant when it happened, but the 28 year old has been a great addition for Vancouver.
In 44 games, Lafferty has put up 19 points, and is on pace to shatter his season high of 27 points set last year.
The Leafs acquired Lafferty as part of a trade with Chicago last year, but he was flipped in the offseason to Vancouver for a 5th round pick after just 19 regular season games with Toronto.
Spittin' Chiclets host Ryan Whitney says Lafferty is a player the Leafs could use right now.
They let Lafferty go and look what he's doing for Vancouver, you're telling me Lafferty couldn't help that forward unit?
Whitney said. The Leafs essentially moved Lafferty to free up cap space for Ryan Reaves, which is a trade off that hasn't exactly worked out for Toronto but the Canucks are sure glad about it.
