The Canucks landed a three-piece return when they traded away their captain Bo Horvat. A 2023 1st Round Selection, Aatu Raty and the 26-year-old Anthony Beauvilier. In need of a fresh start, the forward took part in 33 games with the Canucks, during which he managed 20 points totalling his career-high 40 points through 82 games.
A speedy and hardworking forward that fitted right into the Canucks' retool, he admitted that from day one, he felt like it was going to be a good fit. The 2015 1st Round selection already has 457 regular seasons NHL games under his belt and was excited at the idea of being a leader in a much younger Canuck line-up:
An east-coast native, Beauvilier praised everything the Canadian West Coast had to offer, especially the passionate fans:
Beauvilier steps into the 2023-2024 campaign with one year left in his deal with a $4.15M cap hit. After managing 20 points in 33 games, he is confident he can keep on improving and grow into a difference-maker.
He'll come into camp with the sole purpose of securing a top 6 job; while it's clear as day that Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller are going to be centering the top two lines, the congestion on the wings will create quite the internal competition. Anthony Beauvilier, Andrei Kuzmenko, Brock Boeser, Conor Garland, Ilya Mikheyev, Nils Hoglander, Vasily Podkolzin, and perhaps Tanner Pearson are going to be fighting for a spot.
