LATEST | Bad news strikes the Flames and former Canucks goaltender
A former Canuck goalie will miss some time with a fractured finger.
Jacob Markstrom, now of the Calgary Flames, is week to week with a finger injury he suffered on Monday in practice.
The team announced on Tuesday that he'd miss time, and noted that no surgery is required for the injury.
In response, the Flames have recalled
Dustin Wolf from the AHL Calgary Wranglers.
Wolf is arguably the best goalie prospect in the world, winning AHL goalie of the year in both of his pro seasons to date, and boasting some of the AHL's best stats among starting goalies this season.
Jacob Markstrom played with the Canucks from 2014-2020, and has struggled the last two seasons with the Flames after a Vezina-calibre season in 2021-22.
The Canucks and Flames don't play each other again until March.
