Late last night, the Canucks announced that the forward Linus Karlsson had been sent back down to Abbotsford. In another release earlier today, the Abbotsford Canucks announced that they had called up a defenceman from their East Coast Hockey League affiliate.

Abbotsford recalls D Chad Nychuk from loan to Kalamazoo (ECHL)
Nychuk jumped to professional hockey last season following a campaign in which he collected an impressive 71 points in 64 games at the WHL level. 13 outings at the AHL level last year allowed him to collect five assists, and the six games in which he played this season had him collect his first AHL goal.
