We have some sad news to share on Sunday morning as a former Vancouver Canuck has passed away.

In a post on social media on Saturday night, the Vancouver Canucks Alumni announced that former defenceman Glen Cochrane has passed away at the age of 65 following a battle with cancer.

"#CanucksAlumni are saddened to hear the passing of Glen Cochrane.

Our condolences to Glens' family, friends and fans 💙"

Cochrane spent two of his ten NHL seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, putting up three assists and a whopping 177 penalty minutes in 63 games.

He also spent time with the Philadelphia Flyers, Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, finishing his career with 89 points and 1,556 penalty minutes in 411 games.

At the time of his passing, Cochrane was working as a scout for the Anaheim Ducks, a role he held since 2001.

The thoughts of everyone here at CanucksDaily are with Cochrane's family and friends at this difficult time.
