After becoming a free agent during the summer following a stint with Storhamar in Norway last season, former Vancouver Canucks forward David Booth has finally found a place to play for the rest of the 2023-24 campaign.

On Monday, it was revealed that Booth has signed with Eisbaeren Regensburg in the German second division, DEL2, for the rest of the season.

Note: the following quote was translated from German.

"I used to put him on my fantasy hockey team – and now he's coming to us," reports EBR coach Max Kaltenhauser with a laugh. He informed himself thoroughly about the new man: «David has played relatively few games in the past few seasons. But that's because he often joined later, so there were no reasons for injury. So he's used to joining later. He is in top shape and has the right attitude: I have the impression that he always wants to win and is fully motivated to help us."

He added, "We talked a lot to each other, of course to a large extent about ice hockey. We have a pretty similar view of how we can be successful. We were on the same wavelength from the start, I think that convinced him to some extent about us too."

Booth, 39, spent parts of three seasons with the Vancouver Canucks between the 2011-12 and 2013-14 campaigns, putting up 51 points (26 goals, 25 assists), 54 penalty minutes and was a minus-one.
