Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin went out on Thursday night and made a deal to help the team on the blue line, acquiring Nikita Zadorov from the Calgary Flames in exchange for a pair of draft picks.
The Canucks' interest in free agent defenceman Ethan Bear has been known for a long time now and with the 26-year-old gearing up for a return to game action after suffering an injury at the World Championship, it appears that Vancouver could still be a landing spot for him.
Rick Dhaliwal of 'Donnie & Dhali' says that Ethan Bear's contract may come in at one-year, $1 million, which is something the Canucks could definitely afford.
Bear, a native of Regina, Saskatchewan appeared in 61 games last season for the Vancouver Canucks, putting up 16 points (three goals, 13 assists), 25 penalty minutes and was a plus-six. At the end of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Canucks opted not to give Bear his qualifying offer, which made him an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
