ALLVIN ON THE MARKET TO REWARD THE PLAYERS?
There are lots of talks suggesting that Patrik Allvin was working the phones, attempting to reward the players and show the group some faith. Satiar Sah was on Canucks Central today and revealed that the Canucks had now switched their minding from retooling pieces to a high-end scorer and a top4 dman:
While Mark Friedman has done a decent job by Ian Cole's side, it's evident the Canucks require another talented dman. Playing Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek over 25 minutes a night constantly isn't a good idea throughout 82 games, and it's also clear that Myers is much better suited as a 3rd pairing defenceman.
That they'd be looking at adding another scoring forward makes this conversation quite intriguing. Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller, Brock Boeser and Andrei Kuzmenko have been leading the charge, Ilya Mikheyev has done a good enough job since he came back from an injury, but adding another offensive force to that core would make the Canucks' top6 one of the NHL's best.
What should their focus be on? Another defenceman? Offensive support?
