LATEST | NHL makes an announcement regarding Elias Pettersson
With the Vancouver Canucks being featured on the NHL's social media accounts on Tuesday as part of their 32-in-32 series, they made an announcement regarding forward Elias Pettersson.
The NHL is predicting that Elias Pettersson is going to put up 97 points during the 2023-24 campaign, which would be a slight step back from the 102 he recorded last season.
This could be a very big season for Elias Pettersson. Firstly, his contract situation is still up in the air and at this point, it doesn't appear that he'll be signing a new deal for a while as he's stated he wants to focus on preparing for the new season.
There's also a chance that he could be named the next captain of the Vancouver Canucks, which would be a big honor for the 24-year-old Swede and could help persuade him into signing a long-term extension.
It's going to be interesting to see how Pettersson follows up his 102-point season, but there's no doubt in the eyes of Canucks fans that he could eclipse the 100-point mark for the second year in a row.
