LATEST | Rick Tocchet reveals new lines at practices: Lafferty's place in the lineup now known
Over the weekend, the Canucks acquired the right-handed shot centerman Sam Lafferty from the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Canucks announced their opening night roster ahead of tomorrow night's game.
TOCCHET REVEALS HIS COMBINATIONS?
The Canucks held their first practice with the newcomer Sam Lafferty, and Tocchet featured a surprise line-up. Note that Teddy Blueger wasn't on the ice today, but there are no indications that he won't be playing tomorrow; he'll probably occupy Ilya Mikheyev's spot:
White: Kuzmenko - Pettersson - Garland
Blue: PDG - Miller - Boeser
Red: Höglander - Lafferty - Mikheyev
Grey: Beauvillier - Suter - Joshua
It looks like Phil Di Giuseppe won his bet, as he's still on J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser's left. The newcomer Sam Lafferty centred the 3rd unit with Hoglander and Mikheyev, but Mikheyev has already been ruled out for tomorrow night.
Conor Garland on the first line with Elias Pettersson and Andrei Kuzmenko is probably a strategy to increase his value and showcase his skills with an upcoming trade in mind. Anthony Beauvilier probably represents the biggest surprise in there.
