The Vancouver Canucks came into Saturday's game fresh off a blowout win over the San Jose Sharks and were looking to extend their win streak to three games.

Thanks to a 27-save shutout from Thatcher Demko, the Canucks defeated the Stars on Saturday night by a score of 2-0 to improve to 8-2-1 on the season.
After the game, Demko spoke to the media and praised his teammates that wanted to be here and play for each other, which has made coming to the rink more fun this year.
"You can just tell when guys want to play for each other and play to win. It's a fun feeling. It makes coming to the rink everyday a lot of fun when you're playing for your teammates and there's that camaraderie."

There's a lot of eyes on the Vancouver Canucks this season due to their impressive start to the 2023-24 campaign and it's going to be interesting to see how far this team goes and how they'll do within their division when the games get tough in March and April.
The Canucks will be back in action on Monday night as they face the Edmonton Oilers for the third time this season. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET.
