MAJOR | Ilya Mikheyev back in the line-up: Tocchet makes big changes to his forward group
The Vancouver Canucks will be looking to get back into the win column on Saturday night as they face off against a former member of the organization, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and the Florida Panthers.
On Saturday morning, the Canucks took to the ice at Amerant Arena to prepare for tonight's game against the Panthers, and according to Thomas Drance of The Athletic, who shared the potential lineup, it looks like Ilya Mikheyev will return to the lineup for the first time since January.
"PDG-Miller-Boeser
Mikheyev-Pettersson-Kuzmenko
Joshua-Suter-Lafferty
Beauvillier-Studnicka-Garland
Hughes-Hronek
Cole-Myers
Soucy-Friedman
Extras: Höglander, Juulsen"
At the morning skate, as indicated above, Ilya Mikheyev was skating on the Canucks' second line with Elias Pettersson and Andrei Kuzmenko, which could help the team drive plenty of offence in the future.
For Ilya Mikheyev, this will be his first game action since January after suffering an ACL injury during training camp of the 2022-23 season. Mikheyev continued to play before being shut down in January and undergoing surgery in early February. He's been working his way back from his injury and has recently ramped up to a point where he feels ready to go.
The puck drop for tonight's game between the Vancouver Canucks and Florida Panthers is set for 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET and can be watched across the country on Hockey Night in Canada on Sportsnet.
