Following an important victory on Tuesday night, the Abbotsford Canucks set a new team record and are on the verge of returning to the Calder Cup Playoffs.

While the Vancouver Canucks' hunt for the Stanley Cup Playoffs is all but over, their American Hockey League affiliate down in Abbotsford is getting ever so close to returning to the postseason.
Abbotsford played their fifth game of a six-game road trip on Tuesday night in Bakersfield, California and game from behind, scoring twice in the third period to pick up a very valuable two points in the standings.

Abbotsford Canucks set new team record following Tuesday's win

Tristen Nielsen and Phil Di Giuseppe scored Abbotsford's goals in the third period, the latter's coming with less than four minutes remaining, to give the club a 2-1 win over the Condors.
With the victory in Bakersfield, the Abbotsford Canucks have now set a new team record for their longest winning streak ever at 10 games.

Abbotsford now has eight games remaining in the regular season and sit third in the AHL's Pacific Division with a record of 38-23-2, one point back of the Ontario Reign for second and five points back of the Colorado Eagles for first place.

Calder Cup Playoff spot can be clinched tonight

The Abby Canucks wrap up their road trip tonight against the San Diego Gulls and they'll have an opportunity to clinch their third straight appearance in the Calder Cup Playoffs.
According to the American Hockey League's Public Relations, the following five scenarios are how Abbotsford can clinch a playoff berth tonight.
- A regulation win over San Diego.
- A Tucson regulation loss to Calgary.
- An OT win over San Deigo AND a Tucson OTW/SOW or OTL/SOL to Calgary.
- A SO win over San Diego AND a Tucson OTL/SOL or SO over Calgary.
- A SO loss to San Diego AND a Tucson OTL/SOL to Calgary.
Puck drop for tonight's game in San Diego is set for 7 pm PT.
