The Vancouver Canucks face a nearly impossible climb towards a spot in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs following back-to-back losses to Columbus and Winnipeg, respectively.

Vancouver's final stop of their six-game road trip was in Winnipeg against the Jets, who hold the best record in the NHL, so it wasn't an easy task for Rick Tocchet's group to try and pick up two points.
Canucks forward Pius Suter continues to boost his value ahead of free agency with yet another goal, his 22nd of the season, which gave Vancouver a 1-0 lead, however the Jets rattled off three unanswered to get their 51st win of the season.

Vancouver Canucks Playoff Odds Continue to Dwindle Following Loss

With the loss in Winnipeg on Sunday, the Vancouver Canucks head home having now dropped two in a row and are six points back of the red-hot St. Louis Blues for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference.
Jason Gregor of Sportsnet shared on social media how tough it will be for the Vancouver Canucks to get into the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
In the scenario that Gregor mentions, the St. Louis Blues would need to go 4-3 in their last seven games, Minnesota goes 4-4 in their final eight games and if Vancouver goes 7-0-1, that would likely get them into the playoffs for a second straight year.
With the way St. Louis is playing - 9 wins in a row, the odds of them dropping three of their final regular season games seems unlikely, meaning Vancouver's season is likely over at this point, despite not being mathematically eliminated.
"Canucks and Flames are not mathematically eliminated, but they are done. If St.Louis only goes 4-3 in their last seven and Wild go 4-4, Vancouver has to go 7-0-1 to get in. Calgary has to go 8-2.

Not happening. Only races remaining in the West are for seeding position." Gregor said on X.
According to MoneyPuck, the Vancouver Canucks currently have a 9.7% chance of making it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs following yesterday's loss and if they happen to lose in regulation to the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday night when they return to Rogers Arena, they'll drop to 3.7%.
It's been a frustrating season for everyone involved, from the players to the coaching staff and management group and it's certainly going to be interesting to see what changes occur this summer.
