Buffalo Sabres Looking to Rebuild Around Former Vancouver Canucks 40-Goal Scorer and Pending UFA Brock Boeser
As The Buffalo Sabres look to find their way to the Stanley Cup Playoff's for the first time since the 2010-2011 season, it appears that they should be targeting should pending Vancouver Canucks UFA and former 40 goal scorer Brock Boeser.
After not re-signing Boeser to a contract before the deadline and also not deciding to trade him away, the Vancouver Canucks are a little over a month away from potentially losing forward Brock Boeser to the free agent market.
Canucks GM Patrik Allvin did disclose to season ticket holders at end of the year meetings that he's hoping to work out a deal, but it appears the 28-year-old has already made up his mind and will be testing the market on July 1st.

It was reported that Boeser turned down a five-year, $40 million deal as he the number to re-sign him is out of the realm of possibilities for Allvin and Jim Rutherford.
The number that he is seeking is in the ballpark of a 6-7 year term worth about $56-$60 million.
With that in mind, the Buffalo Sabres have been named as a potential suitor to rebuild around as according to PuckPedia, they have $23.2-million in cap space this summer, which would be wise to be spent on a proven 40-goal scorer.
Even in "down year" on a team that was disappointing all season long, he still managed to produced consistent numbers, scoring 25 goals and 25 assists for 50 points in 75 games.
