A potential landing spot has emerged for Vancouver Canucks pending unrestricted free agent forward Brock Boeser, who is expected to hit the open market on July 1st.

The Vancouver Canucks are a little over a month away from losing forward Brock Boeser to the free agent market and while General Manager Patrik Allvin told season ticket holders he's hoping to work out a deal, but the 28-year-old has already admitted that he's likely heading to July 1st as a UFA.
If Brock Boeser does end up hitting the open market, as many suggest, there certainly won't be a shortage of teams interested in his services, as he would be one of the top free agent scoring wingers available, potentially even the Carolina Hurricanes, who tried to trade for him before the March 7th deadline.

In a recent mailbag article on The Athletic, Michael Russo and Joe Smith discussed the possibility of the Minnesota Wild being interested in Brock Boeser if he hits the open market on Canada Day.
Russo says that the Minnesota Wild, who are Boeser's hometown team, would only consider signing him if the term and dollar amount are reasonable, adding that it's more likely he'll go somewhere else where he can get more money.
He also went on to add that Brock Boeser's agent Ben Hankinson hasn't closed the door on his client returning to the Vancouver Canucks.
"Hankinson, on the radio with me, also didn't close the door on Brock Boeser actually re-signing in Vancouver, but I don't get the impression that the Wild are willing to sign Boeser anyway unless the term and price are very reasonable. I bet he can get more elsewhere, and it also wouldn't shock me if Boeser wants to avoid the distraction of playing at home." Russo said.

Boeser, a native of Burnsville, Minnesota, is reportedly looking for a contract with a 6-7 year term after turning down a five-year, $40 million deal from Vancouver earlier in the 2024-25 season and with the Wild having having $20.5 million this summer, they certainly have the money to work out a contract with the UFA forward.
Looking at Minnesota's depth chart, if Brock Boeser were to sign with the club, he would likely slot in on their second line, with Ryan Hartman or Marco Rossi as his centerman, assuming the latter is not dealt by Wild GM Bill Guerin over the summer.
