The Vancouver Canucks reportedly have interest in adding Buffalo Sabres defenceman Bowen Byram, and apparently the feeling is mutual.

The Vancouver Canucks have seemingly been kicking tires on acquiring Bowen Byram for most of the season, and now with trade rumours constantly surrounding the young defenceman, the possibility has never been more real.

Bowen Byram wants to be a Vancouver Canuck

Bowen Byram, who turned 24 in the past week, has shown promise and already played a significant role on a Stanley Cup winning roster in his young career - in 2022 with the Avalanche - but he's already been dealt once and apparently isn't far from his second trade.
While Canucks reporter Rick Dhaliwal has said a number of Western Conference teams are interested in acquiring the young puck moving D, Colorado Avalanche beat writer Adrian Dater says that the former Av prefers to become a member of the Vancouver Canucks and find himself closer to his hometown of Cranbrook, British Columbia.
Dater, who covered the early parts of Byram's career, could have an inkling into what Byram may desire, but he may also simply be making the assumption based on Byram's hometown.
Some Canucks fans, however, might question just where exactly Bo Byram fits into a d-core that already features Quinn Hughes, Filip Hronek and Marcus Pettersson in the top 4, with youngsters like Tom Willander and Elias Pettersson knocking on the door for regular spots in the lineup.
The Canucks targeting Byram could point towards bad news for their belief that Quinn Hughes will stick around long term, but players being actively interested in making their way to Vancouver after such a tumultuous season is certainly good news.
Now it's up to Patrik Allvin and the Canucks' front office to see if they can make Byram's wish come true.
