Canucks announce the addition of a feisty forward and former Stanley Cup Winner
When the Canucks moved Vasily Podkolzin to free up cap space and a contract, Allvin showed his hands, and another was expected.
The announcement finally came through; Patrik Allvin announced that the Canucks had signed Samuel Blais to a deal with the Abbotsford Canucks and a professional try-out with the big team.
Standing at 6'2'' and weighing 205, Blais is known for his aggressive play, and he could very well fit into Rick Tocchet's style of play, given his intensity and physicality. He played a crucial role in the Blue's Stanley Cup win 2019. He had 7 points in 53 games with the Blues this season, and he'll be looking to crack the Canucks' 23-man roster in October.
If not, he'll be an excellent addition to the Abbotsford Canucks. A veteran of seven seasons and 257 NHL regular season games. He also played 148 AHL games and collected 105 points over that span.
