We're just three days away from the Vancouver Canucks returning to action as they open up their preseason schedule against their Pacific Northwest rivals, the Seattle Kraken, at Rogers Arena.
The Canucks have been working hard the last few days on the ice in Penticton at training camp as they prepare for upcoming preseason games, as they play four in five days next week.
First up, as mentioned, is against Seattle on home ice and we finally know at least two of the Canucks players that'll be playing in the preseason opener.
In a social media post on Saturday, the Canucks shared that J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser will be on the roster for Tuesday's game against the Kraken. It's unclear at this time who else will be playing, but it's possible Canucks fans could see Danton Heinen, who signed with the team on July 1st. Heinen has been skating on a line with Brock Boeser and J.T. Miller during on-ice sessions at training camp in recent days.
The Canucks likely won't release their full roster for the game until Tuesday morning, but per NHL rules, it'll need to feature at least eight 'veteran' players. A player is classified as a veteran for the preseason if they appeared in 30 or more NHL games in the season prior. So there's a good chance we could see some other household names in the lineup, as well as some of the team's young prospects before they're assigned back to their respective junior clubs across Canada.
Puck drop for Tuesday night's game against the Kraken is set for 7pm PT/10 pm ET and can be viewed nationally across Canada on Sportsnet One and Sportsnet Pacific.
