Canucks forward Elias Lindholm comments on injury and return
The Vancouver Canucks have been without the services of Elias Lindholm for a little while now due to an undisclosed injury and while it's unclear when he may return to the lineup, there's hope that it could be soon.
On Tuesday, Elias Lindholm met with the media in Vancouver and gave an update on how he's feeling and when he hopes to return to the Canucks' lineup.
Lindholm told reporters that it's not ideal to be out at this time of year and that he tried to play through his injury, but just couldn't do it any longer, forcing him to miss over three weeks now. He added that he feels pretty good, hoping that he'll be able to play soon, but himself and the team are taking things day-by-day at this point.
"We'll take it day-by-day. Like I said I feel pretty good, so hopefully I'll be back pretty soon." Lindholm said.
Lindholm, 29, was traded to the Vancouver Canucks by the Calgary Flames at the end of January in exchange for Andrei Kuzmenko, prospects Joni Jurmo and Hunter Brzustewicz, a first-round pick in the 2024 draft and a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2024 draft.
Prior to his injury, Lindholm wasn't playing as fans had hoped, putting up nine points (five goals, four assists), four penalty minutes and is a minus-five in 22 games. If Lindholm is able to return for the playoffs, he could be a key factor for the team in a top-six role alongside either J.T. Miller or Elias Pettersson.
