The Canucks still have many decisions to make when it comes to pending free agents, most notably the future of Filip Hronek, but that won't stop them from looking ahead at potential additions they could make this summer.

In an article by Canucks Army, the blog considers some names that could be a fit for the Canucks, especially if they decide to move on from Filip Hronek.
While a familiar name like Chris Tanev will always be near the top of the list from Canucks fans, the blog's author Cody Severson says his impressive playoff run might make him too expensive.
I like Matt Roy and Sean Walker as UFA adds.

I'd also add Dylan Demelo to the mix. Though not a flashy name, Demelo is a right-shot defenceman who dominates possession at 5-on-5, seemingly with anyone he plays with. If the Canucks are priced out on Tanev, I'd look to Demelo as being a low-cost equivalent.

Severston suggests that the Canucks may be better off going with a lower-cost option than the familiarity of either Hronek or Tanev, leaving them with enough cap space to pursue a top-six upgrade.
However, it might be hard to find a bargain with many teams seeking the proper shooting of the top four defensemen.
It's sure to be a busy offseason for Rutherford, Allvin and the Canucks.
