The American Hockey League's Abbotsford Canucks have made a statement on defenceman Jett Woo.
On social media on Saturday, the Abbotsford Canucks made a post celebrating defenceman Jett Woo as today, July 27th, is his birthday. The Winnipeg native turns 24-years-old today and is set to have a big season in 2024-25 after setting career-highs last year.
"Happy Birthday Woozy! 🎉
Please join us in sending defenceman Jett Woo lots of birthday wishes today!" The Abbotsford Canucks said.
Woo was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the second round, 37th overall, back in 2018 and has seen his game grow year-after-year since making the jump to professional hockey ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
Last season, Woo set a new career-high in assists and points for the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Canucks and was a key piece of their blueline as they made it to the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs, ultimately being swept by the Ontario Reign.
In 62 games last season, Woo put up 31 points (seven goals, 24 assists), 93 penalty minutes and had an even-rating.
It's going to be interesting to see what the Canucks' plan for Jett Woo is next season and if he'll finally make his National Hockey League debut at some point during the 2024-25 campaign.
Everyone here at Canucks Daily would like to wish Jett Woo a Happy Birthday and all the best heading into the 2024-25 season, no matter where he ends up playing!
