With an unusual amount of opening spots as head coach all around the league, the rumour mill has picked up, and it appears that Jeremy Colliton could be in contention for some of these jobs. Elliotte Friedman discussed the subject with Rick Dhaliwal while on the Donnie and Dhali show earlier:
Colliton already has experience at the NHL level; the Abbotsford Canucks coach had been the Chicago Blackhawks' bench boss before joining the franchise. It appears he has done a good enough job down in Abbotsford to be in consideration for some NHL openings.
While it may not be the best for the franchise and the team down in Abbotsford, the farm club was always meant to be a development level, which includes the coaches. If Colliton does indeed find a new job at the game's best level, the junior Canucks will have served its purpose.
