It was a big night for Vancouver Canucks fans as the team returned to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time in four years and hosted their first post-season game since 2015.

There were nerves as the game started, there's no doubt about that and through 40 minutes, the Canucks were down 2-1 to the Predators, but in the third period, turned things up a notch.

Quinn Hughes and Dakota Joshua scored 12 seconds apart to give the Canucks a 3-2 lead. Then later in the final frame, Dakota Joshua scored another goal, this time an empty netter to seal the victory and series lead for the Vancouver Canucks.

After the contest, captain Quinn Hughes spoke to the group in the dressing room and gave the game puck to Dakota Joshua for his three-point performance.

"We're going to start a little tradition here. We need 16 pucks for 16 wins. Demmer (Demko) made some big saves, Lindy (Lindholm), way to get us going, but this one's going to Playoff D (Joshua)." Hughes said."

After accepting the puck and putting it into the Stanley Cup puck holder, Joshua kept his speech to team relatively quick.

"On to 16, let's f--cking go here guys." Joshua said.

Joshua, 27, is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer and this season, he's had a career-year and its caught the attention of many around the NHL. In 63 games during the regular season, Joshua had 32 points (18 goals, 14 assists), 60 penalty minutes and was a plus-19.
