As it was announced yesterday that Dakota Joshua is now day-to-day, and could be the in the lineup at any moment, scenes from practice indicate that it could be as soon as tonight's matchup with the San Jose Sharks.

Over the summer, Joshua received very scary news as he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and needed emergency surgery to remove the lump. Since, the diagnosis, he has been quiet on his rehab and recovery, in order to try and get back as soon as possible. But yesterday, Joshua finally addressed the effect the diagnosis had on him.

"Something you can't really be prepared for but the support from my family, friends, fans, the organization as a whole, everybody has been so nice and very caring which I love to see. Made the tough time easier.»

Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet mentioned originally that he did not see Joshua ever going down to he AHL for a rehab assignment, instead they were going to monitor his ice time and get him in live drills to see how he fares.

By the look of his action in practice, it looks like Joshua has not skipped a beat and is ready to jump back into live NHL action. But when will that be?

Along with the speculation around his return, the Canucks placed forward Nils Aman on waivers in order to make the needed space to get Dakota Joshua back in the lineup. There has been no mention if he will be playing this evening, but by the looks of their roster moves and his play in live drills, we here at Canucks Daily would not be surprised if he dresses and get a few shifts against the Sharks.
