Dakota Joshua's agent updates on his future in Vancouver
Ever since the Canucks' season ended, contract renewal has been the subject on everybody's mouths. The team has started highlighting their priorities, and things should fall in line sooner rather than later.
One of the Canucks' players whose stock rose the most, Dakota Joshua has been highlighted by many as the team's most important re-signing. Alongside names like Elias Lindholm and Filip Hronek, it should mean a lot. Under Rick Tocchet's guidance, Joshua became a whole new breed of hockey player and his skillset definitely helped the team win games this year.
He'll be a free agent with full autonomy by July 1st, but his agent gave promising comments on Joshua's future in Vancouver. Dakota has already stated he loved the city, and his agent confirmed it:
"Dakota really loves the city, has had a great time in the city, and hopes to stay.."
Dakota Joshua's Agent, Rich Evans (@Hockeyagent), joined the guys and talked about the #Canucks Forwards future.
Patrik Allvin signed Joshua as a free agent out of the St. Louis Blues development program two years ago, since then, he hasn't looked back at the AHL. Known for his intensity, physicality and willingness to play the dirty areas, Joshua made a name for himself.
He really stepped it up a notch this year, an injury kept him from getting the promised land with 20 goals, but he still did fairly with 18 goals and 32 points through only 63 games. Speculation has it that his new contract will definitely start with a 3, and perhaps even 4 if he's willing to wait it out and hit the market. Will the Canucks be able to retain his services?
