For the second time in less than two months, Thatcher Demko is dealing with a lower-body injury, and it's come at an unfortunate time for both himself and the Canucks as they're in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Demko's injury occurred at some point during the Canucks' Game 1 victory on Sunday against the Nashville Predators. While it's unclear when it happened or what type of injury it is, other than that it's relating to his knee, the absence of Thatcher Demko is not suitable for the Vancouver Canucks. Casey DeSmith has been good, especially in Game 3, where he made 29 saves on 30 shots.

According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, Thatcher Demko was emotional and in tears following the news of his injury earlier this week and needed to be consoled by Rick Tocchet, who told him that the team would need him at some point in the playoffs.

"Your season isn't over. We'll need you because we'll still be playing when you're ready again." Tocchet said to Demko.

Demko has been on the road with the Canucks in Nashville and has been able to provide some advice and support for Casey DeSmith to try and help him throughout the playoffs until he's able to return to the crease.

As for Demko's return, it's up in the air right now, with reports stating that he could be back in either the second round or the Western Conference Final if the Canucks make it to either of those rounds. There also reportedly isn't much Demko can do for this injury, which is still unknown, other than rest. Hopefully, for the Canucks, he'll be recovered in time to help the team in a few weeks as they continue their chase towards the Stanley Cup.
