Vancouver Canucks goaltender Nikita Tolopilo has announced some life-changing news following the club's 4-2 win on Saturday night against the Minnesota Wild.
The Vancouver Canucks were in action on Saturday night for the second game of a back-to-back as Adam Foote's group took on Kirill Kaprizov and the Minnesota Wild, who sit third in the Central Division behind the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars.
With Kevin Lankinen getting the start on Friday against Utah, Adam Foote turned to Belarusian netminder Nikita Tolopilo after the Canucks completed a roster move earlier this week to bring him back up to Vancouver.
"General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that G Jiri Patera has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL), D Elias Pettersson has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL) and G Nikita Tolopilo has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL) under emergency conditions." the Canucks said in a social media post on Thursday.

The Minsk, Belarus native impressed once again for the Vancouver Canucks, making 28 saves on 30 shots to help his club snap their four-game losing streak.
After the game, Tolopilo spoke about his wild week from returning home to Vancouver while the club was on a road trip for the birth of his daughter to helping Abbotsford win on Wednesday night and then picking up the two points last night for the Canucks.
"WON ON THE WILD SIDE❗️"
Tolopilo got emotional when talking about the life-changing news as he's now 2-0-0 in his last two starts (NHL & AHL) since his daughter's birth.
"It's been fun and at the same time, tough week. But yeah, I'm so happy to have my daughter now, and I'm so proud of my wife. She did a great job." Tolopilo said.
He added, "She let me get some rest before the game so I can sleep at the hotel. I really appreciate it, because I know how hard it is to be alone right now for her.
She's good luck charm for me now, for sure. Now I have more to play for. It's great. I feel so thankful."
