Former Canucks coach Mike Yeo already signed to another franchise?
The Canucks tendered an extension offer to Mike Yeo, but the coach turned it down in order to explore other opportunities. Thus explaining the parties parting ways.
A one-year deal wasn't to his pleasing and Yeo wanted to explore other opportunities, perhaps one closer to his own home. Being from Toronto, and having an existing relationship with Craig Berube who was the Maple Leafs' most recent hire, it only make sense for them to reunite. Berube and Yeo previously won the Stanley Cup while coaching the St. Louis Blues.
