Former Canucks first rounder Jake Virtanen finds new home for 2024-25
After leaving his club on a bit of a sour note, former Vancouver Canucks first round pick Jake Virtanen has found a new home for the 2024-25 season.
In a post on social media, the Iserlohn Rooster, a team in Germany's top division - DEL, announced that they've agreed to terms on a one-year contract for the 2024-25 campaign with Jake Virtanen.

"We welcome Jake Virtanen, a new striker at Seilersee! Welcome to Iserlohn, Jake!"
"We were actually always quite successful there, if I remember correctly. I wouldn't mind if my personal record in games in Iserlohn remained the same in the Roosters jersey," smiles the striker. "At the same time, it was always super tough to play in Iserlohn. It was similar for our opponents in Bremerhaven and I want to help us use this home advantage to our advantage in the coming season. I'm looking forward to playing for Doug and I think we have a team with great potential," adds Virtanen.
In 36 games this past season with the Fischtown Pinguins, Virtanen had 21 points (six goals, 15 assists), 27 penalty minutes and was a plus-six. He also appeared in two games during the playoffs, but didn't record any points and found himself in the press box on twelve occasions during the most important time of the year.
