Former Vancouver Canucks Goaltender Sadly Passes Away at Just 63-Years-Old

A former Vancouver Canucks goaltender and IIHF World Junior champion has sadly passed away this week at the age of 63-years-old.
It's been a tough year in the hockey world following the passing of some former National Hockey League players
including former first-round pick Miika Elomo, along with some players who made a name for themselves overseas in Europe and on the national stage.
Today, we have some sad news to pass along from the hockey community after the passing of a former Vancouver Canucks goaltender who helped Canada win their first-ever IIHF World Junior gold medal.
Former Vancouver Canucks goaltender Frank Caprice passes away
In a post on social media on Thursday, Joey Kenward of Sportsnet 650 radio shared that former Vancouver Canucks goaltender Frank Caprice has passed away at the age of 63.
"Sad to hear of passing of former #Canucks goalie Frank Caprice at age 63
Caprice was Vancouver's 9th Rd pick in 1981 Draft & would play 102 games with @Canucks from 1983-88
Prior to making the #NHL Caprice helped 🇨🇦 win their 1st ever 🥇 at the World Jr's in 1982" Kenward said on X.
Caprice was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks 178th overall in 1981 and went on to make 102 appearance with them between the 1982-83 and 1987-88 seasons.
In 1992, Caprice headed over to Europe to continue his playing career where he made stops in Italy with HC Gardena, in Wales with the Cardiff Devils and in Scotland with the Ayr Scottish Eagles before retiring from professional hockey following the 1998-99 season.
"The NHL Alumni Association is heartbroken to learn Frank Caprice has passed away at the age of 63.
A ninth-round selection of the Vancouver Canucks in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, Frank made his NHL debut for Vancouver on February 24th, 1983, while spending the majority of the 1982-83 season with AHL Fredriction." the NHL Alumni said on X.
