Several members of the Vancouver Canucks have landed on a newly updated National Hockey League trade bait list with six weeks to go until the deadline.
With 42 days until the National Hockey League's trade deadline for the 2025-26 season, action is expected to pick up any day now, with some movement expected prior to the Olympic roster freeze on Wednesday, February 4th.
Now that the Vancouver Canucks are officially in a rebuild, the front office has been exploring all their options on the trade front and after initially just making their pending unrestricted free agents available, they're now open to conversations on any player.
"We are transitioning into a rebuild here, acquiring younger players through the draft. Obviously, the draft is really important for us. Since Jim and I got [here] three years ago, we've definitely always emphasized on getting younger." GM Patrik Allvin said.

Over the last number of weeks, the Vancouver Canucks have received interest on several different players on their roster, including Swedish forward Elias Pettersson, whose agent commented on the rumors during a recent edition of Donnie & Dhali.
"I think he's happy. I mean, no one's happy when they're losing." Pettersson's agent J.P. Barry said.
He added, "He [Pettersson] committed to be there and try to make the best of it, and he's going to do that. I'm sure there's going to be all kinds of discussions at the end of this year about every player on that team."

While Pettersson's agent says he hasn't talked with the Canucks about having his client waive his no-movement clause, trade rumors are going to persist and that why the Sundsvall, Sweden native has found himself on Daily Faceoff's updated trade board, along with five of his teammates.
Joining Elias Pettersson is Teddy Blueger, Lukas Reichel and Evander Kane, all of whom are named as top-tier trade candidates, while himself, along with Jake DeBrusk and Conor Garland are in the second tier "Names to keep an eye on".
"Finding the right fit won't be easy given all that term left on his deal. But the streaky DeBrusk could augment a contender; he averages 26 goals per 82 games in the postseason for his career. It's a matter of whether short-term help is worth the long-term sting on your cap." Matt Larkin said about Vancouver Canucks forward Jake DeBrusk and his inclusion on their trade board.
It's going to be very interesting to see what moves General Manager Patrik Allvin is able to complete before March 6th and hopefully, the club is able to add at least a top prospect and/or another first round pick in any potential deal.
