Former Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Rick Tocchet has landed an offensive weapon for his lineup on Monday morning in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks.

The next ten days are going to be quite busy around the National Hockey League with the rumor mill heating up ahead of the 2025 Entry Draft on Friday & Saturday, as well as the start of the free agency window on July 1st.
There's no question that the Vancouver Canucks would like to be very active over the next few weeks to upgrade their team as Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford have their sights set on landing a second line centerman to fill the hole left by J.T. Miller, who departed the organization in late January.
On Monday morning, a player that the Vancouver Canucks have shown interest in in the past is on the move and will be joining up with their former Head Coach, Rick Tocchet.

In an article on Sportsnet on Monday, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman gave a big update on Trevor Zegras' future in Southern California with the Anaheim Ducks.
According to Elliotte Friedman, sources are telling him that the Anaheim Ducks are seriously considering the possibility of moving on from the 2019 ninth overall pick and that a trade could come at any point this week.
Friedman added that the Ducks are having discussions about a Trevor Zegras trade with more than one team and that it feels like we're getting to the point where he'll receive a fresh start with a new club.
"According to multiple sources, the Anaheim Ducks are in 'significant discussions' with multiple teams on a Trevor Zegras trade, and the likelihood is growing the talented 24-year-old forward could be traded this week." Friedman said.

He added, "But it's always seemed like the day would come where he'd get a fresh start, and we appear to be reaching that point. We'll see where this week takes us."

Zegras, a native of Bedford, New York, certainly has the talent to be a solid top-six forward in the National Hockey League and a fresh start could do him wonders when it comes to unlocking his full potential.
Well, just a short while after Elliotte Friedman's report, Trevor Zegras is on the move and his time with the Anaheim Ducks has officially come to a close.
According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Philadelphia Flyers have acquired Trevor Zegras from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Ryan Poehling, a 2025 second round pick (45th overall) and a 2026 fourth round pick.
"Trade details, per sources:

To #LetsGoFlyers:
F Trevor Zegras

To #NHLDucks:
Ryan Poehling
PHI 2025 2nd Round Pick
PHI 2026 4th Round Pick" Seravalli said.
After back-to-back seasons with 60+ points, Zegras began dealing with injury issues during the last two campaigns, limiting him to just 31 games in 2023-24 and 57 games in 2024-25.
During the 2024-25 season, Zegras registered 32 points (12 goals, 20 assists), along with 23 penalty minutes and was a minus-eight.
Zegras has one year remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $5.75 million US and is set to become a restricted free agent with arbitration rights on July 1st, 2026.
