The Athletic has released individual player report cards for each member of the Vancouver Canucks' defensive corps and goaltending and how they performed throughout the 2024-25 season.
It was a disappointing season for the Vancouver Canucks as they missed out on the postseason for the fourth time in the last five years
after being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention with a week to go in their schedule.
With the 2024-25 season now in the rearview mirror, it's time to reflect on what went right, what went wrong and where the Vancouver Canucks should go from here as they head into an offseason with many questions that need answering.

In an article on The Athletic on Thursday, Thomas Drance and Harman Dayal took a look at the performances of each player that suited up for the Vancouver Canucks on the blue line and between the pipes throughout the 2024-25 season.
The highest grade went to captain
Quinn Hughes, who got an A+ from Drance and Dayal after recording his third straight 75+ point season, which should land him a nomination next week for the Norris Trophy.
Hughes had a tough season due to injuries, one of which
forced him to withdraw from the United States' roster for the 4 Nations Faceoff.
The 25-year-old finished the season with 76 points (16 goals, 60 assists), 29 penalty minutes and was a plus-two in 68 games with Vancouver.
As for the lowest grade on the blue line, that went to 28-year-old
Noah Juulsen, who was given a C by Drance and Dayal.
Juulsen was limited to just 35 games this season for the Vancouver Canucks due to injuries and in late-February, it was announced that he
would miss the remainder of the season after suffering a hernia that required surgery.
The former first-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st and with the depth Vancouver has on the blue line in Abbotsford, it seems unlikely that he'll be returning to the Canucks.
In between the pipes,
Kevin Lankinen, who was one of the bright spots in Vancouver's season, earned the highest grade among the team's goaltenders with a B+ after putting up a 2.62 goals against average and four shutouts in 51 games.
Latvian goaltender
Arturs Silovs was given the lowest grade among Vancouver's goaltenders with a D after a poor start to the 2024-25 season, which came as a surprise to many after how well he played during the Stanley Cup Playoffs last spring.
Silovs appeared in ten games for Vancouver this season where he had a 2-6-1 record along with a 3.65 goals against average and an .861 save percentage.
The Vancouver Canucks hope that Silovs will be able to have a strong run in the Calder Cup Playoffs for Abbotsford which will set him up well for training camp in September.
