With the ongoing trade rumours and speculation that Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes will be joining his brothers Luke and Jack on the New Jersey Devils, Jack Hughes' latest comments are only adding more fuel to that fire, and fans should be nervous.

With the NHL and NHLPA coming to an agreement on a new CBA, the Vancouver Canucks do hold significant leverage over Quinn Hughes and what he earns next contract.
Maximum contract lengths have been shortened going from eight year to seven if you're re-signing with your current team and from seven to six years for those on the unrestricted free agent market. - Edward Jaxon

With that being said, Quinn Hughes' decision to re-sign or leave has nothing to do with money, but the fact that he has a strong desire to play with his brothers Jack and Luke at some point in his career.

Vancouver Canucks Captain Quinn Hughes' Brother Jack Hughes latest comments add fuel to the trade rumour fire

With all the speculation of his future being at the forefront of most headlines in Vancouver, a latest interview between NHL insider Pierre Lebrun and Jack Hughes has added a massive amount of fuel to the fire, and he is well aware of the impact his words will have on the Canucks fan base.
I asked Jack Hughes about whether he talks to his brother Quinn about his future and possibly playing together.
``This is the headline question, you know?,'' Jack smiled back.
``Honestly, I'm not afraid to say it. Yeah, I would love for Quinn to -- eventually I'd love to play with him. And whether that's in New Jersey or at what time that takes, at some point I want to play with Quinn. But yeah, that's the question going around. They talk all day about it up in Vancouver, you know? But yeah I'd love to play with Quinn at some point.» - Jack Hughes
Jack is not crossing any real lines or breaking any tampering rules when he says this (which some have eluded to online), but the reality of the situation is, anyone would want to play alongside their siblings in the NHL if they had the chance, and fans have to understand that it is a very real possibility that Quinn ends up leaving for this very reason, regardless of the money he will lose.
