Vancouver Canucks forward Jake DeBrusk has detailed how the Vancouver Canucks can bounce back next season and return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

After coming within one win of reaching the Western Conference Final in the spring of 2024, the Vancouver Canucks were hoping to replicate that success this past season, but due to injuries, drama and inconsistent play from their entire roster, they missed out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
With last year now in the rearview mirror and the entirety of Vancouver's roster back at full health heading into training camp next month, the Canucks are optimistic about their chances of returning to the postseason in April 2026 and Jake DeBrusk recently shared how they can make that a reality.

Jake DeBrusk reveals how Vancouver Canucks can return to Stanley Cup Playoffs

Last week, Jake DeBrusk was a guest on the 100% Canucks Podcast with Landon Ferraro and NHL insider John Shannon where he discussed his first season in Vancouver, his belief in Elias Pettersson and more.
Among the topics discussed was Vancouver missing out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs, which was certainly tough for DeBrusk and the team's big stars including Quinn Hughes, Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser.
DeBrusk said that he's confident they'll be able to have a bounce back year in the 2025-26 campaign and return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with getting wins early on in the year very important if they want to achieve their goal.
"I think wins help. I think getting wins early helps. Take's some of those questions out of the way. But I think with just everything that happened last year, I think the biggest thing for our team is figure out what our identity wants to be as a team and then stick with that through the highs and the lows of the season. Obviously, from our goaltending, from our defensemen, through. I think we can all look at our roster and, everyone likes to look what's on paper for certain teams and every single year, there are teams that people talk about how they have no chance. I've been on a couple of them, which sounds funny. Coming from Boston, the teams I was on where they didn't think we were going to make the playoffs. Everyone thought we were gonna be worse when we lost (Patrice) Bergeron and (David) Krejči." DeBrusk said.

He added, "Obviously, different scenario, but no one gave us a chance, and it doesn't seem like everyone, you know, I feel like the opinion is something we can use to our advantage inside the room in terms of looking forward to this season can be. It's kind of what we make it. I think the biggest thing is getting closer as a team. Me coming in my second year. Obviously, a lot has happened in the first year, and it's done with. Everyone starts off as zeros and a couple wins would help and probably some overtime wins. I think that really killed us last year."

Getting off to a strong start to the new season is going to be very important to the Canucks, like Jake DeBrusk says, but it won't be easy as six of their first eight games are on the road, including against some tough teams like the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars.
However, if, and it's a big if, everyone begins the season at full health and they're able to find chemistry early on, the Vancouver Canucks could surprise some people, like they did in the 2023-24 campaign when they went on to win the Pacific Division title.
