Former 3rd overall pick Kyle Turris is continuing his hockey career with the Vancouver Canucks, joining the team on the business operations side of things.

The BC native recently joined the team as a business intern, with he and his young family settling down in the Vancouver area after his 14 year playing career.

Turris is finishing the business degree he began at the University of Wisconsin years ago, and hopes his long hockey background combined with that education can make him a valuable asset in hockey.

In an interview with Faces Magazine, he says he's looking to find a role that has more of a focus than just hockey, and is grateful to the Canucks for the opportunity to start towards that..

I'm not sure about the exact position, but I would like to pursue a position in the hockey world that is more than strictly hockey. I feel like gaining this experience will be very valuable to me in the future, and pursuing something along that line.

He's still not sure where it will lead him, but his post-hockey future appears to be bright and he's glad to be back home in BC building on it.

While his salary is unknown, Turris won't have to worry much about pay cheques as the Nashville Predators are still on the hook for his $2 million buyout until the 28-29 season.
