LATEST | Canucks analyst Ray Ferraro comments on Elias Lindholm's impact on the Canucks
The Canucks have been heavily criticized since their trade deadline acquisition hasn't been paying off as hoped. Allvin paid a hefty price to fetch the Swede Star centerman Elias Lindholm out of Calgary, but he's having difficulty adjusting.
Through his first 17 games, he's only managed a meagre 7 points, and Tocchet's had difficulty figuring out the best way to use him. The Canucks colour commentator and former NHLer Ray Ferraro shared his thoughts on the Linhdolm's arrival and his impact on the Canucks:
"He's an outstanding player...what were people expecting Lindholm to be? Were they expecting him to be an 80-point guy? Well, it tells us in his career that you're hoping for him to be a career-year guy.
Ferraro was full of promises, however, for Lindholm. The Canucks coloured commentator still believes that the team's newest number, 23, will come through. On the contrary, he's even surprised that he has not yet figured it out:
I do think there's excellent hockey ahead for Lindholm...the Calgary #Flames do not play like the Vancouver #Canucks...should he be able to figure it out?
Yes, of course, he should, and I think he will. I'm surprised that it hasn't looked smoother for him."
When the Canucks traded away Andrei Kuzmenko for Elias Lindholm, hopes were that he'd come in and be a game-changing top-six winger. It was a scoring option and a player who could dominate the ice on all 200 feet of it. There's still time for Lindholm to change the narrative. Hopefully, he gets it under control before the playoffs start.
