The Canucks handily defeated the Winnipeg Jets by a score of 5-0 on Saturday night. Elias Pettersson, Pius Suter, and Nils Hoglander each had a goal and an assist, while captain Quinn Hughes recorded two helpers.

However, goaltender Thatcher Demko went down with an injury during the second period after turning away all 12 shots he had faced. Casey DeSmith came into the game in relief, impressively turning away all ten shots he faced. The Canucks' tandem combined for a 22-save shutout. Coach Rick Tocchet does not believe the injury to Demko is too severe.
Time will tell how Demko recovers from this injury. Luckily, the Canucks are off until a Wednesday night clash with the Colorado Avalanche, giving him several days to recover.
