The Canucks defeated Pacific Division rivals Los Angeles Kings 2-1 on Tuesday night in overtime fashion. It marked the team's second consecutive victory, as they leapfrogged several teams to claim 2nd overall in the NHL, three points behind the Florida Panthers.

The leading scorer (6th in the NHL), J.T. Miller, scored the overtime winner, his 31st of the season.

The tally marked the 30-year-old Ohio native's ninth overtime goal as a member of the Canucks (13th total), tying him for second in franchise history alongside Brendan Morrison. Daniel Sedin (16) ranks first, as does his 31 total overtime points.

Miller now has 84 points on the season as he continues to climb the ranks of the Canucks franchise. He needs 16 more points in the team's final 18 games to reach a new career high and hitt the 100-point mark for the first time.
